Rod J. Mustanski was born and raised in Wheeling, WV. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy, he received a BA Degree from West Liberty State College and worked on his graduate studies at Dayton University at the College of Steubenville. He left his home state in 1977 to begin a career with the Department of the Army as an Instructional Systems Specialist at Fort Lee, Virginia where his knack for writing began.

Up to his career in writing, all of Rod J.'s writing was for professional publications and satirical articles on sporting events. He retired from the Federal Government in 2004 after serving 31 years. Rod J. spent his last 10 years of civil service as the Chief, Quartermaster Training responsible for developing and providing resident/non-resident training materials to over 115,000 active and reserve soldiers worldwide. He received several commendations and awards during an illustrious career with the Federal Government capping it all off with a congratulatory letter from President George W. Bush for his accomplishments and dedicated public service.

Since retiring, Rod J. now has the time to devote to his lifelong ambition...writing. He is an avid sportsman and spends his leisure time hunting, fishing, and on the fairways. His soul mate, Debbie, and he have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. Family gatherings and holidays are very rewarding and the time together is so precious.

Rod J.'s first novel in the Adam's Way Trilogy, "A New Beginning", was not only a new beginning for the main character in his book, but also served as his new beginning with a career in writing. The second book in his Trilogy, "Adam's Way, Beyond Paradise", was published 20 January 2009. He took time away from his fiction writing and published a "how to" book, "Enough is Enough: What All New Aspiring Writers Need to Know" in July 2009, which has earned him the Award Finalist in The National Best Books 2009 Awards for writing and publishing. Rod J. published the final book in the Trilogy, "The Judgment", in March 2010. He plans to take a short break from his writing until his next project, a non-fiction work for an old friend who wants Rod J. to tell his story; the book will be published in 2012.

Rod J. is a member of the Burrowsville, Virginia Ruritan Club serving as: Secretary from 2005-09, Chairman of the Scholarship Program, and Co-Chairman of the Policy Board; and is the Ruritan Holland District, Zone 6 Lieutenant Governor for 2010. He is also a member of the Distinguished Order of Saint Martin given to the esteem Order of Logisticians.
